Preheat oven to 400 F. In a large bowl, add your dry ingredients together with flour, baking powder & salt. Add chopped parsley and grated cheese. In a separate bowl, combine buttermilk, egg, garlic and melted butter, whisk to combine.
Add wet mixture to the dry ingredients and stir until no dry streaks are seen. This will be a very sticky batter.Using an ice cream scoop, transfer biscuit dough onto lined baking sheet, forming large lumped biscuits. Bake for 12-16 minutes until golden browned.
Combine topping ingredients of melted butter, garlic, parsley and lemon zest and brush onto biscuits hot out of the oven.
