General Tso’s Turkey Meatballs

These General Tso’s Turkey Meatballs are a nourishing, homemade version of takeout that’s just as delicious and satisfying. Served over rice with steamed broccoli, it’s an easy, high protein meal that brings the flavors of your favorite takeout right to your kitchen!

General Tso’s is a Chinese-American dish that uses a sweet, savory, and tangy sauce. The sauce is sticky and glossy with notes of garlic, ginger, and vinegar. It is a very common takeout dish, which I am guilty of buying, but for good reason. It really is a tasty and not overly spicy dish. The typical recipe calls for twice-fried chicken, but I wanted to put a more nourishing option on the table. Thus, I create my takeout version of General Tso’s with turkey meatballs. The meatballs are made with Asian inspired flavor that compliment the General Tso’s sauce. They are also baked, not fried, which makes more a leaner meal and less of a mess!
