The oats are simmered with vanilla, cinnamon, and a touch of brown sugar, then topped with seared pears cooked in butter and brown sugar for a sweet, warming finish.
In a small saucepan, combine oats, milk, vanilla, cinnamon, & sprinkle of brown sugar. Set heat to medium and allow it to come to a simmer, stirring frequently. Turn off heat and let sit to thicken.
In a separate pot over medium heat, add butter and melt until frothy, then add brown sugar and cinnamon, stir to combine. Add sliced pears and let cook for 2-4 mins each side. Remove and add to oatmeal, add splash of milk and drizzle of maple syrup!
