Pear Seared Oatmeal
Ingredients
For the oatmeal:
- ½ cup quick oats
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp milk to top
For the seared pears:
- 1 red pear sliced
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 2 tsp cinnamon
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, combine oats, milk, vanilla, cinnamon, & sprinkle of brown sugar. Set heat to medium and allow it to come to a simmer, stirring frequently. Turn off heat and let sit to thicken.
- In a separate pot over medium heat, add butter and melt until frothy, then add brown sugar and cinnamon, stir to combine. Add sliced pears and let cook for 2-4 mins each side. Remove and add to oatmeal, add splash of milk and drizzle of maple syrup!
