Chocolate Covered Strawberry Smoothie Bowl

Because chocolate covered fruit shouldn’t be restricted to just Valentine’s Day — here’s how I incorporated one of my favorite Valentine treats into my morning smoothie bowl!

Indulge is a sweet and nutritious breakfast. My Chocolate Covered Strawberry Bowl combines the classic pairing of chocolate and strawberry, but in a filling way. The strawberries and yogurt create a thick, tangy base that is naturally sweetened by the berries. The yogurt gives the bowl protein and probiotics! Topped off with a homemade chocolate shell, the end result is a delicious, almost dessert like breakfast.

FAQS

Q: Can I use other fruits or even add fruits to the base?

A: Yes! Bananas, cherries, and other berries would go great with the current base or as a substitute.

Q: How do I achieve the chocolate shell?

A: The coconut oil is key in achieving a chocolate shell. It helps the chocolate harden instantly. Just make sure you slowly pour the melted chocolate over the bowl that way you can get an even coating.

Q: How can I keep this recipe low in sugar?

A: If you want to reduce sugar, use your favorite dark chocolate!

Q: What are some good toppings for this smoothie bowl?

A: Shredded coconut, nuts, granola, fresh berries, and chia seeds all pair well with this smoothie bowl. It also tastes great as is!
